CRIME, RELIGION, AND HISTORY
This should be the title of a very eclectic conference I’ll be attending in August.
I’m really looking forward to participating in this conference on Aug. 19, “Perspectives on China.” Organized by the Ahmanson family of Los Angeles, it will be a one-day meeting to get differing views on China by people such as myself, Howard French of Columbia University, historian Jeffrey Wasserstrom of UC Irvine, the crime writer Qiu Xiaolong, and the Chinese religion expert Mayfair Yang of UC Santa Barbara. More details, including bios and links to our articles and works can be found here.
